Going to the movies in Amsterdam’s cinemas
It’s hard to get bored in Amsterdam, but if you do or in case it’s bad weather you can see the movies in one of Amsterdam’s cinemas. From Hollywood’s blockbuster to Disney’s productions.
But I don’t speak Dutch!
Well, that doesn’t matter! A big advantage of going to the movies in The Netherlands is you will see the movies in their original version, so with the real voices of all actors. No synchronization. All movies are subtitled for the Dutch people, so they read what the movie is about.
There are some exceptions, movies for the children will be synchronized. If so, you will see that on the agenda of the cinema with the remark “Dutch version”.
There are 4 main cinemas which all belong to one company: Pathé.
