The NEMO Science Museum
Science is all about the NEMO Science Museum. The purpose of this museum is mainly to inform and teach children about the science all around us.
The mission of the museum is to bring science and technology closer to the public.
The building is divided into 4 thematic floors:
- Humania – Discover more about who you are
- Elemanta – Learn about the building blocks of the cosmos
- Technium – Unravel everyday technology
- Fenomena – Experience how science works
In the museum, you can play, investigate and experience how science and technology works.
The dunes along the coast in The Netherlands are purifying water to use it for drinking water.
If you like science a visit to the museum is definitely worth it, however, remember the museum has a strong focus on children. Don’t forget to visit the rooftop terrace NEMO as for stunning views of Amsterdam!

The museum is about a 10 minutes walk from Amsterdam Central Station.

Open: Daily from 10 AM to 5:30 PM. Before 8th of February 2018 and after 9th of September 2018 the museum is closed on Monday. On Kingsday (April 27th) the museum is closed as well
Admission: € 16,50 from 4 years up. Children younger than 4 are free
